Short Description:
Using Firefox, Forms Mode remains active after a search is performed on
www.google.com.
Problem:
The Google search page does not function correctly with JAWS, within Firefox
browser. After you enter text in the search box and press ENTER, JAWS provides
no indication that the search results have been returned from Google and JAWS
remains in Forms Mode. This is known to affect Firefox v.3.6.
Solution:
Open the Google home page at:
http://www.google.com/
Tab to the "search settings" link and press ENTER.
Press 'R' to navigate among the radio buttons on the page and locate the radio
button labeled 'Do not provide query suggestions in the search box.' Press
SPACEBAR to check it.
Press 'B' to move to the Save Preferences button and press SPACEBAR.
You should be presented with a dialog saying your search preferences have been
saved.
Google should now work correctly with JAWS.
